West AucklandMy name is Katherine Tuenter, I am seventeen years old and I have a younger sister with Down syndrome, Sophie. Myself and my other fourteen-year old sister, Alexandria, are well aware of the difficulties many parents of a child with Down syndrome face when finding an appropriate (and also an available!) babysitter for the child’s special needs. Alexandria and myself do babysitting together for another child with Down syndrome in our area and we have written to you to ask if you would like to add a notice into your next newsletter for any other parents in the West Auckland area who desperately need capable and reliable babysitters for their child/children. I am currently a member of the Waitakere City Youth Council and both myself and my sister are very capable and enjoy interacting with children and we would be very appreciative if a notice could be included.
