Guidelines for Middle and Secondary Schools
This publication provides a general overview of difficulties experienced by a student with Down syndrome and provides strategies to help.
This is a publication produced by the Down Syndrome Society of South Australia Inc in 1999 Topics covered in this publication include mathematics, studies of society and environment, English, the arts, technology, science, health and physical education. It has been written for teachers who have a student with Down syndrome in their class. It is designed to provide a general overview of the difficulties usually encountered by a student with Down syndrome in accessing the Secondary curriculum. It covers each subject, the specific difficulties and includes strategies for assisting the student with Down syndrome to overcome that particular difficulty.
