The Birds and the Bees
The Birds and the Bees makes it easy to talk to your young children about the tricky topics of birth, bodies, sex and sexuality, and staying safe.
"Where do babies come from?" "Why has that lady got such a big tummy?" "Why don't I have a willy like the boys do?" "Why has Jason got two mummies?" With its expert, friendly advice from an experienced educator, you will be able to: answer awkward questions simply and clearly, give the right amount of information for your child's age, protect your child from abuse, handle childhood play and exploration sensitively, help your child to form positive attitudes towards sexuality, body image and gender identity, and start open and honest relationship that you can build on in years to come. There is also special advice for fathers and other male carers, as well as a handy list of the best books to read with your child. Genelle Gordon has more than 15 years' experience as a sex educator and counsellor. She has raised three children.
NB: The library resources are available for ADSA library members to borrow. Unfortunately we do not sell direct to the general public.
