Teaching Pre-writing Skills to the Child with Down Syndrome
Covers specific area of difficulty, developing fine motor skills, a pre-writing programme and record keeping.
This is a Down Syndrome Society of South Australia publication from 1996 on teaching pre-writing skills to a child with Down syndrome. Learning the actual mechanics of writing, is an extremely complex task. For many young children, minimal instruction is required. Children with Down syndrome have specific areas of difficulty that preclude them from learning to write by modelling, observing or experimenting. This publication covers information on these areas of difficulty and continues with how to develop fine motor skills, a pre-writing program and the different stages and also covers record keeping.
NB: The library resources are available for ADSA library members to borrow. Unfortunately we do not sell direct to the general public.
